This is how I taught Merlin the rear cross (switch), using just one jump and a clicker. It’s also a how-to video for anyone interested in trying the same technique. You can skip the clicker if you want, but it really helps a lot.
I taught my first agility dog the rear cross using an entire sequence of jumps. That did work, but it took him a while to really “get it.” I used the one-jump method with my second dog and it worked really well, quickly giving my beginner dog a solid understanding of the maneuver.

Our Am. Bulldog puppy just had his first puppy class last night and he did very well, but we get the feeling that our treats (Canine Carryouts) are not getting his attention. I’ve heard you could use hotdogs or cheese? What do/did you use for your puppy training (clicker) treats? Thank you!
Some people use hotdogs but I won’t because of all the junk in them! My dogs get a bit of cheese, or I make tuna "fudge", buy Zuke’s treats which are great because they’re tiny, chewy, and high quality. Their most special treat, which is used sparingly, is chicken.
